Question about an XP 100
I saw one at the gun show yesterday and was wondering about it. I really don't know anything about them. It looked to have about a 14" tapered barrel, chambered in 223rem, standerd Rem short bolt action and had a brown plastic grip-stock with the grip kinda in the center. It had a Leupold 3x9 on it also. It looked to be in great shape, 98% I would say. I picked it up and couldn't believe how light it was. But it felt very good in my hand. The guy had a $450. price tag on it. Could anyone tell me anything about this model?

These center grip guns were made for IHMSA shooting on a single shot frame they are desirable and that is a reasonable if not excelent price.

I put a rear 2oz shilen trigger on the one I had done, made into a switch barrel and had the tang extended to model seven diminsions. I reinleted a 40x weighted stock for it in heavy class and a model seven stock for sporter. depending on barrel length, it fits in xp100r stock.I also have an xp100r mated to it so bolts and barrels interchange I have 3 bolts and am going to have a 6.5 WSSM barrel done after the shot show in Jan. I have 9 barrels from MKIV to 308 at this time. great little test bed. From bench to calling/carry gun with a change of scopes and trigger.

Jules;

You should buy it at that price.It is worth every penny.If you don't like that cailber you can change it to anything.If you buy it and don't like it I will take it off your hands.

Jules,

I'd buy it at that price. it is a steal, especially considering it has the scope. You can still get Fajen style Laminate anatomical thumbhole grips for the center grip XP's, which would put the finishing touches on such a gun.

I am quite partial to the .223 rem anyway, as it is a great varminting and target cartridge, and so if you ever wanted to get rid of it, I'd gladly take it off your hands [Big Grin]

Jules-
That's by far the best price I have seen in a while. If it's in decent shape, GRAB IT QUICKLY!

It's too late now. I live at the Beach and the show is in Richmond. About a 2 hr. drive. I didn't get the guys name or card. I just didn't know enough about the XPs to know if it was a good deal or not. I see this kind of stuff all the time but when I go to the shows, I have a one track mind[Contenders] Now maybe Encores, and for sure I gotta put the XPs on my list.
Shit guys, I had a pocket full of cash too. Now i'm bummed out.....I just didn't know.
