45nutA Pair of Savage Pistols
Gents,
I submit for your perusal a pair of Savage
Bolt Action Pistols....A 22 LR and a 22-250.
I bought the 22 about a year ago and am quite happy with it,above average shooting with ragged hole potential. The 22-250 I aquired this spring via a co-worker that won it at a raffle.
Once the 22-250 made it home I noticed even more how the mold-lines on the stocks stood out and I set out to correct this. I sanded the lines down to the level of the rest of the stocks, wiped down with sanding prep, then gave them a few coats of a "stone" finish paint.
While I had them both out of the stocks I set out to correct the gritty triggers...I smoothed them and re-set the factory triggers to the bst I could get safely,,,the 22lr releases about 3#.the 22-250 releases about 2.5#. Without further modifications I will enjoy these pistols for years to come. 45nut

44magnumexcellent pistols----very sharp that they are "matching" with similar work on stocks. thanks for the pics, gives me ideas on how to dress up my pair of strikers (22-250 & 7mm-08) and hopefully a 22lr soon to join the fold.

OkiecrufflerThey have bases right on the reciever, but I wish they would have moved them back some. Works fine from the bench, but shooting off hand puts the scope too far away for the relief distance. I'm also not too fond of the cheap looking mag they come with, it interfers with my sand bags, but I replaced it with a 5 rounder and now I'm really happy. I also just found out that it has a trigger adjustment screw (DUH) so I'm happier with the trigger now. FWIW, I have a ruger 10/22 with a dragonov style stock finished the same way. Gets lot's of looks at the range.
