I have several pistol scopes. I have yet to discern any real difference in the high end scopes. I have the insanely expensive Leupold 2.5X8 and several Burris 3X12s. None really make me happy. Why doesn't someone make a 30mm tube (besides Tasco)? I think that would improve your view. What do you guys think?

A 30mm tube only offers a wider range of windage/elevation adjustment. Nothing more...nothing less.

You must be hard to please , at present I have 2x,4x, and 2.5x8 all Leupolds and I must say the 2.5x8 Leupold only wants for a AO and this would help on long range Speciality Pistols like the XP 100 and shooting past 400 yds.
The Burris scopes I have had in the past were also very good glass.
I am curious what are you looking for that these scopes don't provide?

I believe the type of action you are shooting may make a big difference in how satisfied you are with any given scope, and whether that action is a center grip or a rear grip with respect to your satisfaction with any given pistol scope. The constant focus eye relief type scopes seem to do better on the mid-grip guns, while the not so constant eye relief scopes are more user friendly with break actions and rear grip bolt action guns. High magnification is also a factor because it substantially restricts the field of view, making any scope a lot harder to use with out putting in considerable practice. Certainly, individual preference is also a big factor which may over rule anything I have said here...Rusty.

Yea, maybe I am too fussy. After all I love the guns these scopes sit on. Just a little bit of a perfectionist.
