TCU Trim Length
Ref: 7mm TCU
My Speer manual says trim to 1.739", max. length is 1.749".....
Ok, then I goes to the Hornady manual and it be 1.750" trim length and 1.760" max. length.
Nosler only shows a pic of the measured brass and the total length of 1.740"

I know this is a wildcat round, but what do you guys trim your brass to?

In a standard TC barrel, I go with the same as that for the parent .223 case, which is 1.760 (I trim to 1.750). The sloppier specs of the TC factory barrels do just fine this way.

In custom chambers, I treat the max length as 1.750 and trim to 1.740.

That's great precise info Bobby. I've just been using my Lee trimmer and never measured the cases. Works great in both my Contender barrels but it isn't exactly knowledgeable practice! [Roll Eyes] [Embarrassed]

Lee trimmers are wonderful tools but like you I haven't been measuring just using the lee trimmer. One of the first things when I get a new barrel is to see which lee trimmer will work with it if it is a wildcat. My 6mm bullberry took a 243 lee and I had to shorten it some for the 6mm bullberry. I'm checking on a trimmer for the 25-35.

Frankly, when you form the brass and fireform it, it always comes up shorter than the specified trim to length and I still trim it lightly to even up the case mouth, but generally the cases are short.
