Graybeard as stinkbait for virus
Puter shop says it was a Klez virus & to keep your anti-virus programs updated. Shop says it is not even necessary to open an attachment for it to do its dirty work.

My puter is back online now. Just a hiccup.

Folks -
This virus thing is ugly. The worlds #1 computer chip company (who writes my check) has had some problem w/ Klez.

Do EVERYTHING you can including Windows and Office security patches. But do keep in mind, that when even the big companies with security staffs have problems, you will too.

I can go on and on with this, used to work the virus outbreaks, but I won't. It's in the same class as going to a race to see a wreck.

REALLY ENCOURAGING, Steve.

Rethinking what I was told about the way the bug works, it may have just coincidentally come through the fellow's email that just so happened to innocently have Graybeard in the subject line. May not have been malicious at all. Still makes one wonder though. Results are the same regardless.

Yup, most likely coincidentally. As I type this, I'm working on my Mom's laptop. She got hit by w32/Yaha.g@MM. Came from someone they did an eBay deal with about 6 months ago.

There has been alot of viri activity out there lately.

Well, from the way i read it, it is not sent by the user name at all. The virus just send itself from from the hosts puter and picks names to put on the e-mail....
