I have a sling on my Encore that has a longer grip bolt with a spacer so I can hook the sling to it... But if I tighten the bolt on the grip the hammer wont stay cocked.. Now if I loosen it to the point where the hammer will stay cocked the grip is a little loose... Im thinking I can just cut that bolt a bit shorter.. Is this normal with this setup??

It happens. Had the same thing with a Rynite buttstock.

Bolt threaded portion is too long and protruding into the hammer back prventing full cock.

Dub off some of the protruding area or slip a washer under the bolt head to hold it out a bit as a spacer.
