22-250 Ackley?
I'm planning on putting a 22-250 AI tube on my rifle, and was thinking perhaps I should look for a deal on a 22 encore tube and make a matching pistol tube.

Wondering if anyone has been shooting a 22-250 ackley in the pistols and what the results were.

Last Spring I purchased a used Competitor handgun in 22-250ai. I am very pleased with the accuracy. It has a 17" barrel which I find to be longer than I care for but hate to mess with anything that shoots as well as it does.

My experince with the 22-250 AI in handguns included a xp-100 and a encore, both with 12 inch barrels. I can assure you that the barrels were too short, and I would not recommend anything less than a 15" tube. The muzzle blast was incredible in the shorter tube. Good luck. wk

I have a 26" .22-250 AI on my encore rifle and couldnot be happier with the performance. I have not tried it in a shorter tube.
