Anyone from Wyoming?
Does anyone live and handgun hunt in Wyoming?
I live in Cheyenne and I'm looking for a hunting partner to shoot everything from varmints to big game.

I WISH I lived in Wyoming. For now, Texas will have to do...

Yea, the hunting and fishing here is pretty good. I understand the Whitetail hunting down there is premier.

There are some great whitetail hunting opportunities here in Texas, but many of them now are only for the wealthy. The prices over the last few years have become simply outrageous. But thank goodness for the proliferation of wild hogs; at least there's some good hunting for everyone -- and much is either priced very low or free.

I'll be applying for pronghorn in Wyoming as soon as the applications become available in January. If there's a handgun only area again, that will be my first choice (if my calendar cooperates!).

Bobby, if your interested, I can make some recommendations for Antelope handgun hunting.

Paul-
We were there for the 1st time in '97, and we didn't want to leave.

But maybe tonight's lotto ticket I bought will be a winner. Then I'd sell off the business, "retire" and make a new home in the state that keeps calling my name...

Heck, I'd even "settle" for Montana!

My hunting buddies and I are also planning a Wyoming hunt in '03 and would love any insight anyone could give. Those "paint" colored pogo sticks are calling our name. mvm

Hi Bobby
In this post you mention a handgun only area. Is this open to non residents?
I'm off to South East Wyoming this fall and plan on using my 375JDJ.

Mike-
I don't recall the # of the area, but Wyoming has offered a somewhat early-season handgun permit via the standard drawing. And yes, it is available to non-residents. I just hope it will be on the 2003 applications.

SS308,
My hunting buddy and I have hunted antelope and mulies in Wyoming about 5-7 years ago. Had a good time, but the quality of the antelope bucks was low because of a bad winter kill. Steve has since gone back to the same ranch which now leased for antelope, but they allow him to take youth beginners out and hunt does. I am always open to a resident handgun hunter who knows his area when it comes to big game. I'm sure we would be open to getting together with you at some time in the future. My e-mail address is
nhcofc@flash.net
Steve and I used to live in Greeley, CO, so we are familiar with Cheyenne. Steve now lives in Pueblo, but we get together once or twice a year to hunt and shoot.

Where does he live in Pueblo? That's my home town.

If anyone is interested I would be happy to help and/or get together for an Antelope hunt. The hardest part is getting drawn.

I don't feel comfortable giving out an address on the web. If, you know what I mean.

No problem, I emailed you this morning. Maybe we can hookup for some goat hunting next year.
