HHI6818Score 309JDJ 1 Deer 0
Boy, did I get lucky last week on the day before Thanksgiving. This is the BIGGEST deer I have ever shot!!!! Two guys put on a drive and I heard BUCK coming and when I looked up I could see this guy running towards me. He was probably 300 yards away and stopped and looked at me at about 200 yds. BIG mistake on his part!! I shot him with the 309JDJ loaded with a Nosler 165 gr. B.T. @ 2325FPS.
I laid down on the ground since I use a Harris Bipod on the Contender and cocked the hammer, took a big deep breath and SQUEEZED the trigger. He bolted at the crack took off down the hill. Couldn't find the spot where I shot him but I found him at the bottom of a DEEP ravine in the creek. Went to gut him, but no knife, rope, no nothing left the fanny pack back at the truck. We drug him probably 100 yds UP hill and then I went and got one of the locals with a 4 wheeler to haul him the rest of the way out. He was standing facing me when I shot him and couldn't find the entrance or exit hole but the lungs were mush and I didn't have time to look when I dropped him off at the butcher.

Big BoreHell of a round isn't it? The only problem with it is if you miss, don't even think about blaming the gun
