Hornady 30 caliber 130 grain SSSP bullet?
Has anyone used this bullet on whitetail deer? What are your results.

I use these for practise with both my H&R/NEF rifles and they shoot accurately. I use Barnes 130 and 140 grain XBT's for hunting. Any info would be appreciated. ---------Chainsaw

My brother, my Dad and I all use them in 30-30 contenders.....we have never recovered one and none of the deer shot with them had any complaints! [Big Grin]

I've just started using this bullet out of a 30 cal Encore at MV=2250 fps. I shot one through a gallon milk jug at 100 meters and was NOT impressed with the damage done. didn't appear to be very much expansion. I may switch to a 125 gr. Nosler BT.

They seem to be decent bullets for the cost.

Personally, for Deer sized game on down to Varmints, I prefer the Nosler BT's to all others in the 30 caliber family.
