Mainer,
I'm curious as to the parent brass for the 6 JDJ#2? I'm not familiar w/ that one. I believe the 6 JDJ is based on the 225 Win, but what about the #2 version? [Confused] Thanks for the info, Gary T.

yes the #2 is 225 brass as far as I know. I think it is just an improved version

The 6mm JDJ #2, I believe, is based on the .307 brass. The standard 6mm JDJ is based on an improved .225 case (blown out to max capacity and minimum body taper).

its not 307 brass because 307 has the same head size as 30-30 and a 30-30 head wont fit..... a 225 does

This is all per SSK..........I asked the question back in Feb of 2001......here is the response:

"Sir, the orginal 6mm JDJ was supposed to have a 40 deg shoulder but the
reamer came in with the same shoulder as the 225, so we kept it, and ordered
a new reamer with the shoulder it was supposed to have in the first place,
thus the #2."

Now you know!

Thanks for clearing that up. The other SSK #2s generally use the .307 brass, and then there are the "x30s"
