Re: The "Magical" Deer Season
LouisB,
Wow!! You must be a mind-reader! You've got me curious--how'd you have my profession nailed down so closely?

As to the load, it was:
Brass: IMI match
Primer: Rem 9 1/2 primers
Bullet: Nosler 125 gr BT
OAL: 2.815" (0.035" off the lands)
Powder: Blue Dot, 23.0 gr.
Temp: 85 deg

Under windy conditions, it shot a 1 3/4" 3 shot group @ 100 yds (w/ 2 holes nearly touching) w/ avg velocity 2489 fps (Standard Dev was only 4 fps). Not the world's most accurate load, but I expect it to tight up some w/ a little fine-tuning (Didn't have time to do so w/ initial load development as deer season was just around the corner). 22.0 gr of Blue Dot was also very promising w/ 3 shots in one hole (0.172") @ 50 yds and velocity 2433 fps.
