Arctic Gun
IAR and Uberti...
Thanks to the guys who gave me the Iar website. After looking at the pistol displayed on the site, I decided to see if I could find the same gun by another manufacturer (like in the case of Spartan and Baikal shotguns). What I found is what looks to be the exact same pistol on the Uberti website http://www.uberti.com. However, I was wondering if indeed they are the same gun? I mean the Uberti website (and magazine advertizments) look a hell of alot more credible for a half decent gun than that of IAR. Any ideas?

I am looking for one of those rolling blocks in 357 Magnum but in a Carbine version. They still import the pistol but I don't think they do the Carbine any more. I have handled the pistol before and they are pretty nice, the owner said it shot very good also. Good luck in finding one, if you find a Carbine let me know, I have been looking for most of this year so far.

I contacted the US Uberti operation a few years ago, before that operation was reorganized. I was told the RB's were available in very limited quantities, only a few being made each year, especially the .357's. You should contact the US Uberti and tell them what you want. I was told to expect waits of about one year.

I went through EMF and got my 1871 Rolling block Carbine, it is a Uberti. After talking with IAR, EMF and Uberti themselves it seems that are a few Importers that bring them in(1871 Pistols and Rifles) and they only bring in a few at a time. I was told that they have a waiting list and usually bring in enought to just cover that amount and a few more. It was only about 2 week wait for me till they brought in a couple dozen. Mine should be here Monday. I opted for the 22 inch round barrel in 357 Magnum over the 26 inch Octagon barrel. Kinda wished I would have went the other way.
