Big Gun #1Re: 358 win or 350 rem mag in encore?
You know I went through the same debate some time ago, considering a 35 cal for the Encore in a pistol length. After looking at the 358 Win, 350 Rem Mag, and 35 Whelen - I eventually decided the Whelen was the way to go. Shortly thereafter a 35-06 JDJ became available at a reasonable price - this is pretty much a 35 Whelen improved + . I have not had a chance to do anything with this yet, but sure am looking forward to it. Fire forming should be pretty easy - just start with 35 Whelen brass and seat the bullets out to the lands. Anyway - you might want to consider this option for your 35 cal Encore pistol barrel.

JulesBob, Everything that i've shot based on the 06 has been more then accurate enough to do what I need. Plus the dies are cheap...... Not only that.....I have a couple thousand rounds of brass

courtney platerI find belted cases a PITA in the Encore. It often hangs up on the belt and then pops over the extractor groove. My first choice will be rimmed and then rimless. No more belted case for me in tip up actions.

LDHunterYeah... I think I'd go with the Whelen if you really need a 35 or maybe jump up to a 375 Caliber and go with 376 Steyr. It's a brute that can be easily downloaded to 358 Winny specs and has no "magnum" belt.
