BBL twist ?
I had a SSK BBL on my TC and the twist was clockwise, and my new Thompson Center BBL has counter clockwise twist ? Just wanted to know if this is the norm or what ? And what is the rate of twis on my TC 44 mag so I know how big a bullet I can load ! Can it shoot 300 gr + ???

Most of the T/C barrels are left-hand twist and quite accurate in my opinion. Especially with a little "throat" magic.....I prefer a left hand twist and wish all my barrels had them.

I believe T/C uses a 1 in 20" twist in the .44 Mag which will handle 300 gr loads just fine. (and 335's)

There's not a lot of performance difference in the right vs. left hand twist.

There IS a noticable difference in torque when you shoot though.

RH twist should be better in the northern hemisphere due to the corilois effect tending to move to the right.
Conversely, a LH twist should be better in the southern hemisphere.

Just messin' with you guys.

I don't think it makes a difference, but I should check out the twists on my T/C barrels.
