nickel brass ??? .223

nickel brass ??? .223
hey guys,, rich jake got me back in gear,,
setting here as i type with me finger,,,
useing a LEE hand press,,
and 6mmTCU dies,,,getting ready fer the .257TCU...
this press works very well...
now ??? this brass has been shot thru my buddys ar-15 think it'll be fine reworking too the .257 ???

I've never tried doing anything with nickel brass. I remember seeing it some where that the nickel plating could cause a problem with fireformed cases just don't remember where I saw it or who said it. Hopefully it was someone from here & they can explain it further. If they don't, check around I swear that I remember there was something to watch out for.

I think the idea on the nickel was that it wouldn't grip the chamber real well upon firing. Varmint Al's had a pretty good article if I remember correctly?

Buckweet.....Mike has a take on the nickle brass for you......But Varmit all beleives that the pressure should be taken by the breech face..not the chamber..two different thoughts on that. Varmit all even polishes the chamber letting the brass slide back against the breech face. He claims more accuracy....... I for one would like to know the TRUTH about this.
