pahandgunhunterNew York Outfitter needed
I am looking for an outfitter / guide for a New York State Black Bear hunt for the 2003 season. Do any of you have leads for me. I am wanting to use a handgun for this hunt. Please contact me or post any info. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

casShort answer... non New York state residents can not hunt with a handgun in NY.

I was not sure about the no hand gun rule in New york, but "cas" answered that.
I would suggest Maine anyhow for a black bear hunt.

daveinthebushIf you go to Gray Beards Outdoors, forums, New York; I posted a letter over there from the New York State Department of Enviromental Conservation from ????. She wrote back with the info on how to contact guides in the state.

casYou can't touch a gun in a gun store... but there are ways to bring guns in from out of state to shoot in certain matches. Of course, Mr.State or Local Trooper will probably have never heard of these legal, but slim guide lines for exceptions. So you may be right... you just may have to wait till you get to trial to prove it.
