Whats your 357 Herrett Mildest Plinker to Hunting Loads
Especially interested in cast bullet loadings.

Cast 180 - 220 grain for hunting, and any35 caliber cast for a plinker load that will be accurate out to about 100 yards.

150- 200 jacketed bullet loads also appreciated.

Are you shooting 10 or 14 inch barrel?

I have a bunch (more than lifetime supply of the 150 Remington SP that was loaded in the 35 Remington, may still be.

I can't help you with cast bullets but my 357 Herrett load is:

200 grain Hornady FTX
37 grains of H322
Federal 210 primer

This load is very accurate out of my 14 inch barrel and produces 1950 fps.

I don't have my load data handy, but with a 200 gr cast, it worked best with a max published charge of AA 1680. The loads chronoed right around 2000 fps from the 10" tube, and 3 shot groups were 1 1/2" @ 100yds, not bad for cast and me being new to contenders. I don't recall ever working up plinker loads.

I'm looking for a .357 H or .35 Rem carbine barrel for a G1 Contender. Been checking GunBroker and such, but if anyone has a lead please let me know.

Muskeg,
Check Ed's Thompson Contenders. He usually has lots of barrels.
