Well after 36 years of wearing uniforms for duty (4 years Air Force LE/K9 and 32 LE finishing as a Captain and Aviation Unit Commander), I hung mine up for the last time today.

Tomorrow I turn in my squad and all the other issued equipment. Won't miss much but flying the helicopter and the mil surp M14 they issued to me a long time ago.

I won't mind at all turning in the Glock 40. Retirement carry will let me go back to carrying my favorite handguns. I know the Glocks all go bang every time, but just not the same....

Browning Hi Power - C&S Pathfinder conversion I picked up VERY slightly used a couple years ago

1911 of some sort - Combat Commander for now and until my Wilson ULC Compact arrives. (My retirement present to myself!)

Colt Python - The first personally owned handgun I carried from 1980-1989. Freshly refinished and tuned up at the Colt factory.

Been a long time since I've carried an all metal handgun and it feels pretty good. I shoot a lot and usually have been practicing with my Commander or HPs. They are just more fun to shoot than the plastic guns. Guess I can get even more range time now.

I carry a glock 23 most days. I have many others that I could but the glock seems to be the one I use easy to take care of about the right size ect.

If I plan a day of woods running my Ti 41 is the next.

Once in a while something else just because I can.

I'll tell ya! The day I was driving out the gate at Ft Carson, Co, as I was just newly retired Army, I was screaming at the top of my lungs!!! It felt absolutely FANTASTIC

Thanks for all your years of service. Now, go buy yourself a retirement gift. Might I suggest a nice Ed Brown 1911? I did!

Oh, and once I retired, I didn't have to worry about concealing anything. I now open carry that nice EB Special Forces. Utah is such a gun friendly state.

Great sticker on the holster!

I do have on order a Wilson Combat Ultra Light Carry Compact as my retirement gift to myself!

A bit lighter than my Combat Commander and fits the same holsters as my C&S Hi Power Pathfinder compact.

It'll just depend on if it's a 9mm or a .45 ACP kind of day......
