jetdrvrMost people put themselves in jail. The cops aren't there to help you. They're there to make the easiest arrest they can to cut down on their paperwork and look good to the bosses.
The only words out of your mouth should be "I want to talk to my lawyer."

They're fishing. The law says the police need to inform you why you're being detained, pulled over, etc.

I get convictions all the time just by being nice and asking simple questions.

tendramsThank god for the 4th and 5th amendements.
I have had many cops ask to search my car....I always refuse and they always ask me why. My response is always "because I value the 4th amendement and I have better things to do today than sit here and watch you not find anything".
