But that is such ancient technology. You need a 20 round 9 mm and a semi automatic shotgun with an extension tube and lasers and flashlights and ...

Good solid choices. Out of curiosity, what ammo are you using? I used to be a big Hydra Shok supporter but a.couple years ago went to Remington Golden Sabre in the 185 +P. I had a staked on front sight that didn't like them but I would bet it had a crack in the post for years.

For my 870, I keep #4 buck on band. I may be out of date on that one. Used to be recommended as less o er penetration of walls. My wife wouldn't let me test that when we remodeled, I used to laugh about a friends load out, chamber a 00 buck then alternate slugs and buck in it.

Sam is right. You need an 18 round extension and a laser and flashlight. The top IPSC and IDPA shooters say so! So do the people that make that stuff. You did not mention the AR15!

Haven't decide on what carry ammo I have lots of XTPs in 185 and 230 available plus other stuff.

Even have 6 boxes of Win black talon.

For the 45

23/4 inch 00 buck in the shot gun also have lots of no4 and 3 inch 00 for yote hunting.

Also lots of slugs available

I took the ported choke off and replaced it with a standard modified lots better buck patterns.

My AR sits across the room from the shotgun.

I have an 870 Express Tactical just like that one. Actually 2. The wife had to have one as well. Mine shot good, buffered Remington and Federal 00Buck into a one inch hole at 20 yards with the furnished choke tube. I did not try #4.

The unbuffered S&B or others did not fare as well.

Any of the slugs worked well.

I added a flashlight, side saddle and tac sling to both guns.

All the buck shot into a one inch hole at 20 yards. WOW

Could you please post a picture of these groups.

Sorry. Didn't take any. But the unbuffered was about 12". Smiler It was a tactical shotgun class and we were not able to keep targets. We shot mainly at steel.

Here is a video of the class. I am the guy in the red shirt. You see the pattern with the unbuffered buck at 2:35. On that steel that had the head size on the side of the target, we were making head shots on the bad guy behind the full frame at 20 with good Remington and Federal buckshot.

Tactical shotgun class

12 inches is more like it the federal flight control wad buckshot combo can gives very tight patterns.

I seen thousands of buck shot patterns but one inch ones seem a bit too good. That's just over bore dia.

The single big holes in paper targets when shooting buck are normally caused by the wads.

But feel free to prove me wrong get some card board shoot it at 20 yards and post the pictures.

I am always up to learning something new.
