I have carry sub compacts in 9mm and 40SW - sig 365 Glock 26/27.

Does going to 45 or 10 mm - add anything - Glock 30 and Glock 29.

Thanks

Yes, if you can hit your target with them as well as you can with the smaller calibers.

I like gen 5 grips on the 26 and 27. 29 and 30 are still gen 4. Will talk to my Glock gunsmith about taking out the finger groves.

Yes.
Recoil.

Above is a little bit TIC, but only a little bit.

Assuming you use modern ammo and for normal purposes, there is very little difference.
However if body armor is a consideration, 10mm might have more penetration but it also has a bit of a reputation for unreliable feeding.

I like a high capacity 9mm like tie Browning HP and I like the 38 super colt. and the 38 special cheif special as its esay to pack and hide, I alos like my mod 19 4" SMITH. I don't care much for vs this and vs. that, its argue fodder! being a good shot is the clue..

Carry the one you hit best with. The large calibers MAY be better if you hit BUT follow up will be quicker with something smaller. Recent belief from studies is that there is not enough difference to matter much, but some argue that as well.

Indeed! The gun you have with you, regardless of caliber, is better than the one you left at home.

Shoot ability is far more important to me then carry ability.

That is why the smallest handgun I carry is a Glock 23.

Another reason that I have been enamored with the Charter Arms bulldog pug in 44 spl. for years. Lightest weight with the most firepower in one pkg.

I was a Texas Border Agent in US Customs and DEA, most of us packed our pistol in our belt butt forward right side..compact short barrel pistols dont carry that way (known as the Mexican carry) you need at least a 4". so the 9MM luger Browning Hi power and colt commander in 45 mostly with a 38 supers in the mesh...45s could not be carried in Mexico so I carried a 38 super and a Browning Hi power..short barrel compact require a holster..If your doing a surveillance you need to stick the pistol under the seat and follow on foot into bars and whatever, Its too hot most of the year for a coat or even a long sleeve shirt.. Losing your gun in a wrestling match is scary and many LE officers have lost their life with there own gun.
