Does any one own a recently manufactured pistol Beretta 84 and is the recoil spring guide rod plasic or metal? Its bugging the shit out of me and would really like to know. Also if they are plastic could I purchase a steel one from Beretta?

Why don't you just buy a used Model 84? I did and I'm pleased with it, recoil spring guide is metal and the gun is very reliable.
