ShofJust bought a Diamondback 9mm
Today at a gun show in Jackson, TN.
I was looking at the Ruger LC9, but decided on the Diamondback.
It's a little more left-hand shooter friendly first of all. That's important to me.
It's double action only, so it has a fairly long trigger stroke, so it should be relatively safe to carry in an IWB holster or even in a cargo pant pocket.
And it will carry seven rounds. I hope to never need more than that!
When I got it home, I dragged out a target, backed up to 10 yards and started shooting. It IS a handful and the recoil is (for a 9mm) kinda stout. But it is very manageable. The sights are not the greatest, but I'm guessing that they are good enough because the first 14 rounds were right in the center mass of the target.
I didn't have a lot of 9mm ammo in the house, but I tried two different brands of hollowpoint bullets and both brands fed and shot just fine without any jams or hung cases.
The handgun is definitely small and easily concealed, and it's thin enough that it doesn't create a significant bulge in a pants pocket and even loaded, it's still lightweight. The grip is small even for me, and it is textured well so it doesn't shift a lot in my hands, but I wish that it was a little bit padded. But I suppose if I did that, it wouldn't come out of a pocket as easy as it does.
AND, I spent $50 less on it than the Ruger LC9.
So overall, I'd have to say that I'm pleased with my purchase and I've got a new daily carry piece.
Does anyone out there have any other impressions of this particular gun?

p dog shooterI hope it turns out to be a good pistol for you.
I am very leary of small start up firearm companies.
When you get a few thousands of rounds through it and its still going strong.
It could be a good buy.

ShofThanks for the two videos. I really like the first one, it does appear to show that it's a dependable firing handgun and mirrors my VERY limited experience at trying two different brands of ammo.
While I doubt that I'll bury mine in the mud, then shoot it, it also seems to show that it's not too terribly concerned with external crud. And I do like to keep my firearms clean, so I think that'll work out all right.
I do wish that it had a slide stop when empty, but I guess I can deal with that....
As for longevity, I guess only time will tell.

WinkAnd did Colt give them the right to use the Diamondback model name? I wouldn't mind a Colt Diamondback in .38 or 9mm if they ever made one.

ShofQuite frankly, I really don't care if Kahr or Colt sue them. It's a nice, inexpensive little pistol so far with two boxes of shells through it now without a hiccup. I can't imagine that Kahr or Colt are going to confiscate my pistol!
