Sig P365 Series
I just posted in the Pistol Shooting forum what probably should have been posted here. My bad. Bottom line, I have a new Sig P365 X Macro with the integral compensator cut into the slide, supposedly to reduce felt recoil. In my experience, it has virtually no effect in reducing recoil. And in fact, you get some gas and particulate blow-back from the cuts in the slide. I really like the gun, though, and find it a great little conceal carry. A 17 round mag is a very nice feature.

I have a Glock 24 with the barrel compensated and the slide cut.

It get very dirty when you shoot it.

I replaced the factory barrel with a uncompensated one.

Gained some velocity and it stays cleaner

compensators have no place on a pistol, insomuch as they don't work and tend to create flinches with noise and blowback, they work well on rifles but some shooters would even question that. I've shot a few rifles wherein a comp was welcome addition under some circumstances..

My wife carries a P365XL, Rose model with the compensator. I carry a Wilson Combat version of the P365, no compensator. I can't tell the difference between the two at the range. Both are very noisy with those short barrels. Easy to conceal though.
