Pyradex ( sp) is a blackpowder replacement made with , I think , a nitrocellulose based product with a smoke additive . Its like a modern blackpower that burns more evenly, has less residue but still has the smoke and smell.

Tim - have you tried Guncity in Chch, or maybe Reloaders in Dorkland , or even better try the Frontier Gunshop in Petone - they specialize in BP arms , or Peter Hydes the GunRunner in Ashburton.

One of them should have or be able to get pyrodex.

Tim is going muzzleloader hunting , I can tell....

Tim manages the hunting side of a guiding company in the South Island and has some blackpowder hunters through the season . Air transport hassles make bringing their own powder difficult so he needs a supply on hand for those shooters.

With luck he has located some in a town near where he is based - the transport regulations for shipping pyrodex make it difficult to move by ground as well...
