Pups first hunt.
My Brother and I were off to check a new area this morning, and I decided to take along the new pup.
Some years back we re-homed a pup that failed an element of its training for the prison service. Hes a brilliant dog.

So when recently we got a call about a young Vizla they had already re-homed, but that had too much exuberance for its new home. Did we want it? I jumped at the chance to try a Vizla. And yes she has alot of energy.

Anyway she's a natural and her indicating , casting and range instincts are spot on.

The result of 2 hrs this morning.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Yep. And for me its a huge sigh of relief when they show natural talent. As a trainer Im only good enough to teach them to hold back and listen. I am not good if the dog needs to learn every aspect from scratch.

She saved you a climb for the Chamois .... ?

Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

Yeah. Believe it or not but less than a k from the state highway on the flats. After the shot another one walked up within 100 meters and watched us for a bit. But this hunt was a freezer filler hunt and we had the Stag down all ready as well and more than enough meat too carry back. Saw 6 stags, a yearling and the two chamois for the morning.

A very good outing by the sounds.
Been surprised more than once by where those West Coat chamois will pop up. I believe there have even been beach sightings from time to time.

Very good! Some of the photography could be improved, though Wink

Yeah actually I have some better ones. But ive got very cautious in this day and age of the net, of identifying where we are. I didnt think of it at the time and only these ones I snapped to send some mates at the time on my phone didnt identify the area.

Very nice to see a young dog work well on its first day out. I never used a dog for big game hunting only bird hunting.
