This is a scrub bull from the Gran Chaco area of northern Argentina. Got him last year.


We hunted on a "Criollo" ranch. The Criollos had been forced off the Indian lands where they had lived for generations. They were doing some slash/burn clearing of the Impenetrable on their ranches to make room for grass/pasture.

Which bullet killed him Steve?

sorry Steve,I meant which of the holes,presuming both the blood draining spots are bullet holes.

Two into the left shoulder. The blood at the jugular was a knife stick coup de grace.

Here is another photo from the other side. He took two to the left shoulder and went down, but was still alive. I walked up and shot him again from the right side, mid chest angling forward. Don't remember if any exitted. The criollo then stuck him with a long knife in the base of the neck to bleed him.
