working next to a guy with an angle grinder probably did more to stuff my hearing than any amount of shooting... I wasn't given ear protection because I wasn't doing the job.. ie, I wasn't 'the one affected'.... couldnt hear anythin for about 4 days...

Thats me.
The hearing loss from the road noise is in the same range as human speech and it makes it hard to hear people in noisy places (pubs etc'). Doesn't stop me hearing things in the bush though.
