GreybeardBushmanDuck Opening Not Good
I hear from a couple of guys I talk to in other parts of the state that they got a few ducks. One is over near Rushworth; one down near Yarram.
But few ducks shot near here. Nearly all the dams are dry, the channels have nearly all been replaced by pipes and most of the lakes are very low. The country is very dry. We've seen a few ducks over the few weeks on nearby lakes but I felt not compulsion to chase them.
There were a few blackies on the sewerage farm just out of town and some non locals got into them.
But very few locals went out around here that I have heard of.
I guess there were a few shot up around the lakes near the Murray.
We really need some very wet years before there will be many around here. Most of the swamps have now been totally dry for four or more years.

BakesHow do you think I bloody feel. When I left the NT I thought it would be awhile before I'd see a whistle duck or a magpie goose again. NOW I have bloody whistle ducks fly over my house EVERY NIGHT and when I go for nice drives in the country with the wife, I see mobs of geese EVERYWHERE!
AND I CAN'T BLOODY SHOOT THEM
