choppa.357 Bain & Davis
Gday All,
Anyone know any Aus Gunsmiths with this reamer?
Can you import reamers and such from the States without customs applications or do I have to use a import permit?
Thanks in advance
Choppa

muzzaIts not that great a round - there are much better pistol cartridges available .....
But if I was looking for a reamer I would go direct to Clymers in the US via the 'net and order from their list .
Appreciate that we do these obscure caliber things 'cos we can , not for any real practical reason...;-)

choppaMuzza,
Being limited to 357 bore size without shooting sillouette and such sort of doesnt leave a lot of options when wanting a bit more power, its more of a tinkering thing, already have the blackhawk, so its a cheap option, and I only have do 1/2 dozen shoots a year to justify keeping the bloody thing!

tiggertateBe careful with some of the loading data out there. A lot of people chambered lever guns to the 357 B&D and devloped loads that may cause binding in a revolver.

muzzaChoppa - I appreciate the reason for doing this change , just observed that there are better calibres out there than the 357 Bain and Davis.
There are also several other similar variants based on the 45 ACP case but they all have the same basic capability- or lack of .
I would be very cautious in working up loading data for this round , unless you can verify the information given you is for your specific handgun I would approach the whole deal with great caution . Rifle loads in a handgun are a sure way to live in interesting times.....
Good luck , I'm sure you will have lots of fun despite all that . Clymer are still my first port of call for obscure reamers.
