GatehouseVisiting Australia and bringing a rifle?
I know plenty of Aussies due to my profession, and I've been asked a few times over the years by the rural area ones to come down and thin out the roo and pig populaiton.
Is it feasible to bring a rifle? What about traveling around prior/after hunting, witha rifle?

BakesIt shouldn't be a problem, just make sure your mates have permits to shoot the roo's. As you can only shoot them under permit

What state will you be in?

CanuckI think the biggest problem is getting there without having to transit the USA (which, if the case, effectively eliminates the possibility of legally taking your firearms to AUS).
Gates, check with scruffy (he's from Lethbridge)....he went to AUS not long ago IIRC.
Cheers,
Canuck

TOP_PREDATORScruffy used my rifle in Australia because of problems flying via LAX with firearms.
Air New Zealand will start flying non-stop Vancouver to Auckland later this year which would mean flying to New Zealand and then flying on to Australia.
