FYI, Kiwi's are a bit like that (when compared to Australia's).

Just up the valley 15kms from my house.
Not mountains by our definition but great terrain for the purpose of the proposal.
Just adding to the growing interest in long range shooting and its place in the target and hunting interest groups.
Gus makes some darn fine rifles and will no doubt us this event to highlight and profile them, that alone is a good reason to go.
Easy to get to, close to ZQN and Wanaka, could be fun.

I`ve had a couple of runs in South Westland on foot and I can positively say that the hills in the Mountain Challenge dont look anything like the real mountains down south.

Sth Westland is about as tough as it gets!!!

I've hunted the head waters of Makawhio/Jacobs River for Chamois but had a lot of help from James Scott and his Hughes 500.
