| I wouldn't of picked a malamute as a good tracker Peter. Are they used much for that role in Denmark?

no not yet anyways, but they have an incredible nose(quite a few are used as rescue dogs) a mate of mine in norway, got me hooked on them. he is a swiessdog handler in the valley where he lives, and only uses malamutes. they are not dogs for everyone, because they are often to smart for there own good. but if you have extended expirence with tracking dogs, they are some of the best there is. they work wonders on bear as well. we will see where this little guy lands when he grows up, but it will be nice with a challenge for a change. best regards peter |

| Stop laughing you bastards!! My little Maltese - she's no hunting dog but she's good company when camping out on dead brumby's waiting for the hogs to come in for a feast. Actually she has been known to give off a little growl when theres a big old boar hanging around. Cheers. GG |

How refreshing to see a hunting dog that is in good WORKING condition and is good and fit as a working dog should be.

| Agree Gryph. Thats a problem I have with some of my troops. Their dog gets chubby so they will chase the weight by adjusting the dogs rations not by uping the exercise. Pete Trembath (of the ABC show "flying vet" fame) is our vet we used when I was in Tindal. He told me that for a working dog you should see the last couple of ribs. Another bonus of keeping them lean is it puts less pressure on the hips as they get older.

| Thats it i like to see a rib or two and having had a lifetime supply of pig, roo and fox dogs one cannot have a fat dog in his kennel if one expects his dogs to catch for him. That GSP is in good nick,a pleasure to see!
