One of those crews at the Anzac event was from my SLSC , Burning Palms a remote cabin community in the Royal National Park , just south of Sydney.

An awesome effort by the lads over the last year , training & fundraising to get themselves & boat to Turkey.

Its pretty spectacular in a big sea , Bill.............not to be missed if you find yourself over here in the Oz summer

Denis, I think I'd almost rather see one of these races in a big sea than hunt water buffalo in Arnhemland. Alas, YouTube is probably as close as I will get to either.

In between Canberra and Cowra there's a small town called Boorowa, which features a "Running of the sheep".

I've never seen it, but I presume it's as fascinating and as dangerous as Pamplona's "Running of the bulls". Or maybe not .....

In the "Running of the sheep", do the sheep chase the people like the bulls in Pamplona, or do the people chase the sheep? You never know about those crazy Australians.

Who gets to let them loose, and how do they do it?
