Sambar 9.3376 Steyr.
Anyone else have one of these?
Great little gun, now all I need to do is work up some decent handloads...

kevin davisi have s .376 steyr scout rifle. when i first shot it, it nearly loosened my teeth by the third shot. i had it ported, with two rows of 1/8" holes along both sides of the barrel, and now it is a lot of fun to shoot. i use hornaday 225 and 270 grain bullets, no worse than a .30-06. i have shot a water buffalo (4 shots), and three whitetails with it. i had it with open sights, but my vision has deteriorated and i put a burris 3-7x33 scope on it and it does very well. i would recommend it as a fun rifle.

Thanks Kevin. I also have the scout version, I was going to get another 9.3 x 62, but this was cheaper.
I can't wait to see how it goes on our bigger deer species...

Sambar 9.3OK. Range report.
It shoots around MOA with the factory 270 gr load.
Recoil, while noticeable, is no big deal, maybe a little worse than a 30-06. About the same as my old 9.3 x 62 Tikka T3.
Overall? Happy with it, and can't wait until the next trip into the high country after Sambar...
those tikka t3 9.3x62 jump a bit.......

Sambar 9.3Yes. A bit worse than your average 30-06, but nothing remarkable.
try the 18.75" bbl version, shooting stiff 286gr loads........great round.

Sambar 9.3I had the standard, blued T3 with a Leupold 2-7 on it.
Recoil with the factory Norma 286gr loads was a bit more than the same rifle in 30-06. Noticable, but not uncomfortable, if you know what I mean.
But recoil is one of those things. Some people have problems, some aren't fazed...
One guy in the club sold his 300WSM for a 270 Win.
Another sold his 308 for a 338WM...
To each his own, I guess.
