JohnTRe: Hard gun cases
Bakes,
Get a Fortress. Made in Australia & you can customise it without costing much more. I had extra reinforcement & security eyelets installed so I could use one of those bike chains you can get & tie it down to the car. Been to Rockhampton once with it & rifles were fine & case came back with nary a mark. Locks etc very good quality. I think mine a 2 gun case set me back $260-280 a couple of years back.
Call the owner/maker Joe Tel: (02) 4731-3349 or email:joe@fortresscases.com.au
He started out making cases for film equipment - just like Tuffpack in USA.
If I ordered one now I may ask for wheels as Airports are getting bigger & 2 rifles & a case are pretty heavy to carry.
Regards

BakesWhats everybody using? I had a look at a Crown case yesterday for $150 but it was very flimsy and cheap looking, crappy locks and such. I know Nitro has a good one thats big enough to lay down in

, but I'm after smaller one.

LesBakes another one you want to look at is Guardforce, alloy/polly had mine now for some time, tough as a stiff shit, it's the only case I will allow my Win. super 375H&H in. The case has had heaps off tough trips in me 4X4 up in the Vic high country and has flown with Qant-arse....Les

NitroXMine is a four gun Fortress model and when full is a serious weight. Only travelled by plane once with it, with only 3 rifles and that weighed over 30 kgs (I had no other luggage).
