My new hunting partner

BakesMy new hunting partner
This is the new addition to the Baker household.
In pigger speak she's a Boxer/staghound (mum)X Staghound/wolfhound/dane (dad). In polite dog circles she's a mongrel

I'm going to train her to use her nose and indicate on the pigs rather than chasing and bail/lugg. Gary has got her brother so it will be interesting to see how they grow up.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

BwanaBobOk, Ok, a new quiz.....
what is Bakes' dog thinking in the top photo?
I'll start it off.....
"Did he say pig dog? Pig dog? Me? That's not what I signed on for .....I'm just here for the food!"
"White men with their ridiculous civilization lie far from me. No longer need I be a slave to money" (W.D.M Bell)

BakesIts been 11 years since my last puppy. I've forgotten what its like. First two nights she howled the house down and shit every where. On the third night she went down with Fred and settled down. The big fella is just tolerating her at the moment. I'm thinking of getting her a play mate her own age so she won't piss Fred off so much.

Definitely related! She does have your eyes.

Sorry Bakesy.

The 'joys' of owning a new puppy have resulted in me keeping delaying a new GSP though I seriously weakened this year. No one else is supporting my desire yet though.
Your large dog would swallow that little one with one bite if he chose to get annoyed.

BakesFreds been pretty good. Some bad news is I may have to put him down soon. He has a spine problem thats making it hard for him to get around.

Bakes,
The pup may end up giving the old dog a new lease on life. Damn shame when the old dogs have to move on

Best of luck...

Greybeard,
You have me at an advantage, I can't see that either is better looking than the other.

GreybeardBushmanI don't know, Oldun.
Let my son's whippet decide. He knows quality when he sees it.
(BTW, he tries to have sex with the wifes Birmans all the time)
Nah, Bakes. Sorry mate. I think I have said enough derogatory words here about you or pup.
I really do think he will be a great companion. Wife looked at the photos, and she said "He's going to be a really big dog!" without reading the bit about his pedigree. I am not sure I want to ask how she decided that. A woman's intuition or am I missing something?
Probably.

Big feet on a puppy usually mean it will be a large dog.
