safari_hunterReduced .375 Loads
I'm looking for reduced loads for my .375 H&H using 235 grain Woodleighs with either AR2208 or AR2209. I'm interested in a velocity of about 2600 FPS so I can use the same zero as my 300 grain load.
Thanks in advance,
Safari_Hunter
Try 72 gr of 2208 I have used this behind the speer 235 gr bullet and figure around 2600 fps.
Man PC your " reduced loads" are still zipping along!
Safari , now what I call a reduced load is 42.0gr of AR 2205, Win Cases, WLR Primer & 220gr Hornady Flat points (made for 375 Winchester Big Bore) seated to cannelure. Cruises at 2200fps - sub MOA 3 shot groups at 100m.
A fun load - makes a 375 H&H feel like a cap gun but would be serious pig medicine up to 150 yards.
May have to go up & down in 1 gr increments to see what shoots best in your rifle. No filler , no nothing - just a good simple load.
Really the 375 " GURU" is Mike375. He has several lifetimes experience with 375's. Contact him with your reloading questions - I'm sure he will help you as he did me. He's based in Sydney.

John,
do you reckon my load is a little hot ??
Your right Mike is the man for the .375 and the .458 win and a few eatherby rounds, he has done a lot of reduced work to.
No PC, I don't think so at those velocities but I don't really know as I quit working on the 235 gr speers as I could not get them to shoot that well in my gun.
I do think they'd still be hot to the shoulder - recoil wise. My reduced loads are really really mild. Try em, they are fun. You can shoot off a whole lot of rounds & the barrel does not even get hot.
Bullets come in packs of 100 and are pretty cheap. Damned accurate too.

John T,
thanks for the tip may be worth a go !!
In the heavy cz .375 I have the speer 235's with the above load kicked a whole lot less than my ruger boat paddle stock 30/06 with full tilt 180gr loads all the same.
I have two loads for a 220gr flat-point. Looked in my reloading notebook and nothing. I think they are on an envelope somewhere .....
