Hughiamgryph,
That price is not that unusual anymore. In fact most of the properties that are under high fence have a waiting list of guys who want to shoot a 200" buck. Due to such high demand, the price of $20K is low in some places. I recently saw a show here called "The Texas Trophy Hunters TV Journal" where a guy paid over $400,000 for a whitetail breeder buck. That's right almost 1/2 million dollars for a deer.

You're right about the price not being that unusual, but there aren't many places that can charge it.
Also, the King is not fenced, except by the Gulf of Mexico.

I would never pay that price, but the King Ranch is open range and bigger than the state of Rhode Island. They have some amazing animals on the ranch, because they started managing them in the early part of the last century before (according to an article I read) there were even hunting seasons for deer.

gryphon1Yes LHOOK i have read up on the KR and it might not be fenced but you can bet your left nut (actually both) that a buck of that calibre and price would not be out in the big bad yonder as a target for the fellas that havent paid the big money...in plains words this buck would almost be on a leash, sound business practice on the KR is what makes my statement accurate ...
