Ferret scout car
This has nothing to do with hunting. I am looking at buying a ferret scout car to play with. Do they run well? How hard are they to drive? I thought I'd ask you fine folks as you may have driven one in the military.

I drove a Ferret many moons ago when based at Wangaratta, Victoria while we used M113A1 there was a couple of surplus Ferrets in store so every oppurtunity I and a few mates would give them a run . I found the tilted steering wheel and rear vision mirrors or lack of them a bit to get used to when no crew commander but I loved them a great machine!

No good on the beach.LOL
A bloke took one to Moreton Island once many years ago to go fishing, spent most of his time bogged.
Seen it much latter with most of the upperbody cut away to lighten it,still didn't help much.

Hope you didn't want to take it fishing? Big Grin

I'll take some photos of mine tomorrow and post them.

Shaun, to be fair one can get bogged in anything at moreton island in the right place.
We had a day of pulling 6x6's and troop carriers on and off the sand for something to do.I think it was moreton island anyway. Big ferry out of Brisbane somewhere?
Urdubob there are still a few laying around at my unit.If you can't get enough info from RLI and Shaun I will ask some of the guys at work.

I'm sure they're better in traffic with a wee mannie, and a bren, sticking out
somewhere.
