404WJJefferyAir New Zealand Economy Seating
Any info or tips about the LAX to Auckland flight in economy?
Roomy, crowded, etc? I have seen first hand the SAA Atlanta to Jo-Burg scene, and opted for biz class. Anyone who has gone, input appreciated. I understand the flight is 13 hours....

TOP_PREDATORI went to Canada in October via LAX on ANZ,on the way to LAX i had three seats to myself so i used them.By the time you have dinner, few drinks a sleep, wake up have breakfast you will be in New Zealand. The plane i was on had T.V screens in the back of the seats.Leg room is not bad i'm 6ft4 yes flight is about 12-13 hours.

muzzaHavent done that route for a few years , but economy is sardine class... you take your chances as to how crowded it will be .Economy on Air New Zealand is the same as any other airline.Personally I dont see the value in upgrading to the next class - unless its a free upgrade.
12 hours isnt that long a time and the seats arent that bad , and if you can sleep thats even better .Look upon it as character building....

ConMy solution to cattle class is to ALWAYS get to the airport early and when checking in specifically ask for the seat at the doors. Not next to the window (door hump takes your leg room), but next to centre aisle or between. Those seats are generally a priority for males as you'll be expected to assist in an evacuation and need the strength to turn the handle and push the door out.
Cheers...
