Adelaide Gun Smith
Need a little help with a new Remington 700 MilSpec in .223.

I have about 150 rounds thru this rifle and it will not group under 3" at 100m, most times it is near 5". I have tried all the usual things, swapped scopes, different rings & bases, two different premium brands of ammo, three different brands of 69gr bullets in hand loads, re-torqued the action screws, inspected the crown, verified the barrel is free floating, multiple cleanings, also had two other shooter give it a go.

Nothing seems to have had an effect, still 3"+.

Time for a gunsmith...anyone have a recommendation? would prefer the Adelaide area.

Thanks
Carl

Try Sprinter Arms over in Hahndorf.
They should be able to fix you up.

New rifle means it is under warranty, take it back!

I know Canberra isn't close to Adelaide, but Russ Le Maitre is the top gunsmith up there. He's built a ton of top F-Class/Fullbore rifles and knows his stuff.

Send me a PM and I'll find his phone number for you.

If it is in warranty then take it back. For gunsmiths, get in touch with Ziersch Custom Rifles - in Auburn which is north of Adelaide but definitely worth the visit.
