Yes,gaiters are must have,knee high.
Wade most gun shops stock hunting clothing, other option is farm supply store like RD 1 or Farmlands.

muzzaAll the reasonable sized towns / cities here have a selection of hunting stores. Your hunting guide will be able to take you to one and see you get suitable gear , be it gaitors or jackets.
Our locally made Swazi gear is as good as any in the world , or there are other makers like Stony Creek , Ridgeline , etc that do cheaper but adequate outdoors gear to suit all budgets.

twobobbwanafiremenE89,
I'm hunting with Pete Chamberlain late May/early June for Chamois/Thar.
Do yourself a favour and be fit.
Second time hunting with Pete and can't recommend him highly enough.

twobobbwanafiremen89,
P.S. I wear canvas waterproof (?) gaiters for bush and keeping lower legs dry.
They can be bought locally.
Don't worry about the cold there's plenty of cold weather clothing available in the gunshops and hiking shops. The kiwis cater well to the outdoor sports.

HamishGidday Carlsen,
Are you allowed out yet? I have been on a short rein since the last big shake up. She who has been a bit nervous about being left on her own since then but am hoping to get up to Mt Hutt for a day hunt this week. Theres a wallow that needs checking out prior to the roar up there.
I will also go out to Boredas place to check out the zero on the 30-06. Like you I get a bit pissed off with all the advise from the armchair warriors at the Range.
You should put a link or two up for your youtube movies because they are awesome and I think the guys here would appreciate see them.
Have a good roar.
Happy Hunting
Hamish

I am supposed to be going to the South Island end of this week , alas not for hunting but to help restore Chch's water services. You never know , there might be a dangerous house cat that needs bashing with a shovel....

Spartan and Shankspony: it might be time to get heads together regarding the details such as which airline to fly; where to fly to; and how Mike prefers to come down.
