Lesanother angle on panthers
For a start I don't really believe that panthers exist here in aussie, about 20 or so yrs ago while out on the Nullabor plains on the S.A. side about 20klm from the W.A. border I spotted a bloody big cat in the spot light this cat was a mother fu6k8r of all cats it was a big bastard chasing a small roo anyone who knows the bush would know it was a feral and I can understand some person thinking that this was a "panther". Those who know the southern coastal areas of W.A. towards the S.A. border, my mate has a photo of me holding a feral cat that coped 2 shot from a 22.250 one was in the shoulder and the bastard got up the second was in the neck and she was down for the count. this fu*%k#n mongral cat was a monster full of muscle, I stand 6'1" it's tail end was at my shoulder and it's nose on the ground. so these "sightings" are f^*k^n ferals..there are some big cats out there so the cat lovers on this forum can get stuffed I hate all cats full bloody stop...Les

BushchookInclined to agree . I've never seen anything as big as what you're talking about but know 4 reliable cockies near here who have seen a really big black
fu@#er from as close as 20 metres . It's killing sheep so sure isn't your run of the mill moggy .

KarlI know of two people in the north QLD who have described seeing strange felines. One was not so much the size but the body shape. He thought it was a lost border collie until it turned around and the head was short like a cat, and it had long, long fangs.
The first settlers kids are still alive in my hometown region, albiet very old and you can get some strange stories about the bush before the whites cleared it. Especially hearsay of what the blacks at the time beleived before they were cleared.

geekayJAL,I didn't know about the Cecil Plains cat shoot but do know the results of the one near Charleville the army took on a few years back. It was very successful.

KarlJAL,
Not sure about those shoots. I do know the army is getting too politically correct to perform culls these days.
Too many cocksucking 'Poseur' Australians get offended.
