It doesn't end with blue cheeses either.
Some of the camemberts and bries from K.I. are truly outstanding.

I`m a huge fan of any KI cheeses, they make more than several blue`s too you know...all great.

Leave out of the fridge for several days in milder temps to mature the flavours out...exquisite!

Not a blue but my personal favourite King Island cheese is Stokes Point Smoked Cheddar. http://www.kidairy.com.au/Products.aspx?product=34

Here's a complete list of their cheeses....that Loorana double brie looks very interesting but unfortunately, as far as I can find, it is unavailable in the US.

Spec's Warehouse downtown (Smith St) has it at the best price I've found.

And Millel has the world's best parmiagano now. Beats Reggiano hands down. Look for their export quality gold label.

Just returned from a food stockup expedition to Dallas. Central Market grocery stores have Roaring Forties Blue Cheese along with about 700 other cheeses. Several locations in DFW area. Yesterday it was $19.99/pound. Wonder what it costs in Oz?

I think I paid about 10 bucks AU for a block of Roaring 40's a couple of weeks ago.
I'm guessing it would have been be about a pound in weight. Was the standard 1/8th sized wedge that you get in the supermarket anyway, not sure of the exact weight.

Might want to check that John...

From their website http://www.kidairy.com.au/

"At King Island Dairy, our masterfully handcrafted and internationally renowned products are created using exquisite ingredients.

Produced exclusively on Bass Strait's most remote island, our indulgent dairy products are made with pure and sweet King Island milk, produced from the herds which graze on some of the most lush and cleanest pastures in the world.

I guess you could argue your case with the Exec Team at National Foods...

And yep, it's sensational stuff...

My after dinner tipple at the moment is Roaring Forties Blue, some whitegrapes and a nice local Pinot Gris.....ahhh heaven!!

I recently spent a week in France and they crap on so much about their wine and cheese!! King Island cheese (and other products) are up there with the best in the world... not to mention our wine.

I work in a cold room and we unload tons of this stuff everynight ,never bothered trying it until i read this post ,ummm !!!! dont know whether i like it or not ! my wife spat it into the sink after trying it .although its good with carlton mid strength beer and sakata crackers .''Australian gold'' cheese is the opposite not enough mould in it ,but very good ! Every truck driver tells me '' i dont know what it tastes like, i dont eat the shit''.Anyway i am trying to acquire a taste for it, even if it does taste like something you clean the horse stables out with
