Leaving on Friday for 2 weeks on a mates place near Normanton. After 6 months in Timor I have been really hanging our for some hunting.

I haven't been to the gulf before as he only recently bought this place, and I picked up a sweet BRNO ZG47 in 7x64 with a Leup 2.5x8 on it to take up as my primary shooter. (Been madly loading some nice new Lapua cases tonight - 139gn Hornady SST's and 2209). I will still take my FN M98 35 Whelen and a 44Mag lever for other contingencies.

We will be stopping at Winton on the way to shoot a few of his goats at his home property as well

Hardest thing is trying to limit the number of rifles I take up without taking valuable beer space in the cruiser.

A mate and I where up that way last year....we took to much gear however so your doing the right thing. I shot a few large boars however.
