Yes it is a great Sabre tooth field mouse gun. I get asked by non big bore fans "what do you shoot with that" answer is whatever I want.

No probs with the 6 AI other than when I bought it from a friend he wouldn't sell me any brass or the dies cause he wanted to get another one, I now have his brass had to buy the dies $180.

I know I might regret asking a Martini Q but what is a BSA 12/15

It is a small bore rifle from the 30-50's era. Model 12 straight grip with No9 BSA peep, Mod 12/15 same gun with pistol grip, Mod 15 same gun with pistol grip and Parker Hale peep. Same guts as a cadet but with double thickness side walls. I bought one to make a 5.6x50Rimmed one day.

We have all bought a rifle that was a bit out of the ordinary. What calibre did you get and what's your experience?

To start off, I found a 4x81 Pecar scope attached to a little Martini and I jokingly offered the owner $100 for the scope. "Well for $175 you can have the whole darn thing"

Well it was supposed to be a Hornet but these fell in to the chamber and eventually I seized that it was a 218Bee. Wrong again, when fired it fireformed and was a 218 Mashburn Bee! Ordered some RCBS dies and they cost more than the bloody rifle

Six years later, I have the sweetest little 6.25 lb (with Pecar scope)walkabout small game rifle that shoots under 1 moa. Modern bullet technology in the form of Nosler 40gn ballistic tips mean that I can get 3300fps with 15.5gn AR2207.

Had made a 416sw which is a 505Gibbs necked down to 416 and improved, case trimmed to 76mm, was hoping to get 3000fps with a 400grn but have only got 2810fps so far hopefully get more when I get the Hornerber brass.

Bought a 6mm Remm AI on a Win action does that count?
This is a great roo rifle, I use 90 & 95grn BT Noslers

BAW,

That sounds very much like a Don Black 218 Bee.

Did it have scope mounts like a figure 8 with the bottom of the 8 sweated around the barrel.

Yes, Solid bottom ring sweated to the barrel, top ring split to fit the scope. I am really suprised how well it shoots considering that it has a 1 in 16" twist. I form cases from 25/20 as the 'Starline' brand is half the cost of Winchester 218 Bee.

An absolutly perfect rifle for a young kid, but stuff them, I'm keeping this one for when I'm so old and can't carry a real rifle all day.

Sounds like just the gun for sabre-toothed field mice

Any problems with the 6mmAI, I have a 1949 commercial FN Mauser in 257 Roberts AI that is my No 1 hunting rifle choice. I have noticed that all improved cartridged are best when loaded at 10/10.

I suppose th weirdest gun I have is a 22-250AI. Its built on a VZ24 action, stainles barrel. I had it made before I moved to the Terrirory and now I have no rabbits to use it on. Haven't even finished breaking in the barrel. Once our range is running, I'll get into it.

I am in the process of building a 219 Donaldson Wasp martini to go with the .222R martini that I am building , to go with the .22K Hornet martini that I just bought and havent shot yet , that goes with .218 Bee martini that I hunt bunnies and goats with ...

And I want a loaded round for that 458 RCBS - will pick one up in May ?

Have a wide array of wildcat cartridges , but not so in rifles.

10/10? What is your background? Yes, I am diverging from the subject of this thread but I haven't heard that term for a while,.... not since my flying days!

585 Gehringer on a CZ550 that was created by accident would be about as oddball as I ever intend to get.

http://www.reloadersnest.com/frontpage.asp?CaliberID=302

Real pain in the ass for a guy who does not even like reloading

My brother owns it now.

And a regular 10ga Zabala shotgun.Pretty oddball here in Australia though - and have to order from importers to get shells in.

Martinis are cool actions , anyone with any sort of shooting ability doesnt need more than one shot anyway so the magazine rifle and semi auto guys are obviously making up for some sort of cruel trick mother nature played on a very small part of their anatomy .Course you Ausssies arent allowed dangerous semi autos anyway cos you cant be trusted with them.....

DAMMIT muzza why do you have to go human on us yes they are but I've still got mine from age 13 A VERY VERY LONG time ago now it's a 22 hornet I have a .310 that belonged to my father that is in the process of being made into a 22 hornet for my grandson. now seriously I doubt a savage action will be kept by 3 generations but a martini I seen it happen a few times now.

Sorry guys , was just having a more lucid moment there . I should have also mentioned the four .22rf Vickers martinis , the Sportco martini target rifle , the BSA International target rifle , the two .303 martini's , and probably the .310 Cadet martini , or the Long Lever 577-450 martini that I had for a while , or the martini action that some twat beadblasted that is sitting on my workbench awaiting a decision on its future. Other than that I dont recall having any martini actioned rifles at all

That's only because guns are evil Muzza.

We have no problem with any other dangerous situation.

We even let released murderers and robbers go back to their families, alcohol, crossbows, heavy machinery etc.

It is only the terrible gun that people can't be trusted with.

Since it obviously brings out the worst in people.

Just ask any Aussie gun owner He'll tell ya!
