Earthquakes in NZ
Central NZ just rock'n'rolled to a raft of earthquakes - up to 6.9 on the Richter Scale.. Most centred on the top of the South Island , and offshore wellington.
We felt it here and we are 300 or more kms away. Hopefully no one is injured - it was a very long , rocking quake as opposed to a severe jolt so maybe damage will be minimal. Heres hoping...
Heres a link to the locations and severity

Hope you bunch are all OK!!!

Not a shake on the scale of the Christchurch one , more a rolling series of waves lasting for about a minute and a half. Enough to make standing in the doorway seem like a sensible move , and bolting outside the next thing to do ....
They dont call us the Shakey Isles because of our drinking habits , ya know ....

shanksponyYep it was a good one. Felt it up here too. Couldn't believe how long it lasted, just seemed to keep going and going. Was lying on the floor and my german guest wanted to know why I didn't get up and take cover. I told her I didn't want to miss any of it. They are quite cool as long as nothing is falling down around you.
