Do folks in Commonwealth countries actually go shopping on Boxing Day?

There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

Boxing Day sales are a bit like your Black Friday sales. In recent years we seem to have them too, even though we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. Any excuse for a sale.

News reports say over $300 million in trade was carried out on Boxing Day in NZ, so yes we do go shopping on Boxing Day. Our population is now around 5 million so that's $60 spend for every man, woman, child, gender fluids and every other non-descript here in NZ Big Grin

Not me though, I just cannot stand the mentality of people and traffic involved with silly retail sales on the day after Xmas barf

When I was a kid in America there were always day after Christmas sales. Those don't seem to be such a big deal, other than Christmas decorations.

Boxing day sales in Australia were awesome when we lived there.

Black Friday used to be really good. The best you can normally hope for is 10-20% off. Rarely will you see an actual sale.

We have small children and legos are usually also on sale after Christmas. But you have to be quick.

You realise Mary was going to call the expected baby Roger , until she stood on a lego piece on the floor of the stable the morning the child was due and shouted "Je..s"

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"
